On October 18, 1851, Moby Dick was published for the first time. It was written by American author Herman Melville and continues to be a classic story read by generation after generation.
The book is the sailor Ishmael’s narrative of the obsessive quest of Ahab, captain of the whaling ship Pequod, for revenge against Moby Dick, the giant white sperm whale that on the ship’s previous voyage bit off Ahab’s leg at the knee.
When out on the ocean like Ishmael, breathing with nature would have been helpful.
